The Strand Pattern 123 1950's, mid century iconic theatre & stage light.

Fantastic and original this statement lighting will be a conversation feature for any room or interior space.

This great example of British design, and the workhorse of theatre lighting, was originally manufactured by The Strand Lighting Company in their Covent Garden works in London’s West End circa 1950's.

We have carried out a sympathetic restoration on this light and vintage tripod, stripping off the old and peeling paintwork and painting the body with three coats of matt black enamel paint which works well with the aged dark stained look of the vintage timber tripod.

The light has then been rewired to accept a maximum 100 watt domestic lamp, with a new porcelain lampholder and fixed plug with 3 metre cord just plug in, light up and away you go.

To compliment the light we have mounted it onto a lovely vintage ' crutch ' type  surveyors tripod. Circa 1920's these tripods are rarley seen now.

The tripod legs have been cleaned and oiled to enhance their original look and patina.

The paint has been stipped from the brass fittings and then given a polish to show off it's original style and look.

Overall a fantastic feature light and tripod showcasing some quality British design and style.

Light on tripod to lowest extension approx 1670mm

Light on tripod to its maximum extension approx 1770mm

Overall excellent with only minor age related marks and blemishes all consistent with vintage age.
