Two super cute Childrens Maple shoe forms.
Stamped P5037 & P5036 these were manufactured by Mobbs & Lewis Ltd est 1885 in Kettering England.
These two forms are for left feet only.
Shoe lasts are essential to cordwainers, aka shoe makers. They are used to shape the top of the shoe, to stretch the leather and tack it in place for the sole to be added later. The tack holes on the bottom of wooden lasts are how you can tell a true last from a purely decorative one.
SIZE : 155mm long x 60mm wide x 60mm high
CONDITION : Overall good for age with age related wear and marks, showing great shape and form. Pinholes.
