PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :
We love this poster, so very iconic of a time when travelling by train was glamorous, semi affordable and adventurous, a colour lithograph printed poster from the New Zealand Railways Publicity Department.
When we received this fragile poster it was in need of some love and attention, the bottom white section and white border sides had been removed to fit a frame, there was overall grime, paper loss, staining and edge damage.
Hence some preservation and restoration was desperately needed.
This was carried in Los Angeles by the Foldline Poster Company, specialists in poster conservation and restoration.
The Poster underwent tape removal, cleaning, paper loss replacement and linen backing.
The remit was preserve, clean and restore to a degree that the poster did not look 'Brand New' but clean and preserved.
The result is a great looking piece of NZ Transport history complete with some edge wear and colour fading that still shows fantastic detail throughout.

CONDITION : Overall excellent, missing bottom typo section and trimmed white edges, clean, linen backed with some edge wear and paper loss, some colour fading to red and yellow details.
