PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :
Super rare English travel poster for Imperial Airways, London.
Circa early 30's this beautiful poster has thankfully been saved after what appeared to be many years of naive neglect.
It has since had a sympathetic professional restoration to secure it's place as an admired piece of artwork and aviation transport history for many more years to come.
Showing amazing detail this UK poster art was carried out by artist Alan Rogers and was printed at the Baynard Press, Stockwell, London SW9.
The Baynard Press was at the time one of the most technically accomplished printing firms of it's time and the company printed many of London transport's pictorial posters.
Supplied unframed and ready to be housed in a frame of your choice.
The professional restoration work included :
1. Dry clean to reduce inactive mold remnants and surface dirt.
2. Solvent testing and safe removal of masking tape to the back of the poster.
3. Wash to reduce soluble/ingrained dirt and stains.
4. Linen backing.
5. Re touching along border edges.
SIZE : 510mm x 315mm
CONDITION : Overall very good restored condition whilst still showing age related ingrained staining to borders.
Lovely vibrant colour and detail to the main image.

Imperial Airways was an early British commercial long-range airline, operating from 1924 to 1939 and principally serving the British Empire routes to South Africa, India, Australia and the Far East, including Malaya and Hong Kong.
Operations were based out of Croydon Airport, Surrey / South London as shown in the above images.
Imperial Airways operated many types of aircraft from its formation on 1 April 1924 until 1 April 1940 when all aircraft still in service were transferred to BOAC.
